Emma Willis speaks out on ‘hard, uncomfortable’ interview with Roxanne Pallett on Celebrity Big Brother
Emma Willis has reflected on her interview with Roxanne Pallett on Celebrity Big Brother last night.
Roxanne’s interview came after she walked out of the house amid a huge row over exaggerated accusations of violence against Ryan Thomas – whom she called a “woman-beater”.
Emma has won huge praise for her stern interrogation of the actress, who has called herself the “most hated woman in Britain”. The presenter confronted her with former colleagues’ claims of similar incidents in the past, and also told her “lots of people are not buying your apology”.
Speaking on Big Brother’s Bit on the Side afterwards, she said: “It was hard, it was quite uncomfortable, but I think that is what was necessary because we watched a lot of discomforting TV with regards to Ryan over the last few days.
“I feel like a lot of what she said was a lot of what she said this morning on the other interview [with Jeremy Vine] and I suppose I wanted a little bit more out of her.”
She added: “We talked for quite a while obviously, we didn’t have time to put it all in. But there is [the question of] what is the future for her, but what about Ryan?
“Yes, he’s through it now as far as we can see but he’s always going to have that paranoia in his head.”
When Ben Jardine asked if she got through to the real Roxanne, Emma paused before saying: “I don’t know.”
Celebrity Big Brother continues nightly on Channel 5, with Ryan the new favourite to win.
