Big Brother’s final season starts with low ratings and a removed housemate
Big Brother’s final season hasn’t got off to the best of starts: ratings are down and a housemate has already been kicked out.
For some reason Ellis Hillon’s social media history has only *just* been looked into by show bosses, and some offensive posts on her Twitter feed have been enough to have her ejected.
“As a result of our investigation into offensive and unacceptable posts on social media, Ellis Hillon has been removed from the Big Brother House,” a spokesperson said.
Her sister has tweeted to say the posts are fake, with reports suggesting they involved the N-word and comments about the 9/11 terrorist attack.
What’s more, it seems having the launch show shoved into a Friday night slot has not paid off in the ratings – with less than a million watching for the first time.
900,000 were watching, according to TellyMix, down on last year’s launch of 1.3 million.
As it stands, MTV are favourites to buy the show from Endemol Shine after Channel 5 opted not to renew the contract.
