X Factor judge Ayda Williams is fine with you expecting her to be terrible
Ayda Williams has explained why she reckons she’ll make a perfectly fine X Factor judge, after she was confirmed for the 2018 panel yesterday.
She and her husband Robbie Williams join Louis Tomlinson and Simon Cowell on the line-up, with Sharon Osbourne set to be an independent panelist at the live shows for some reason.
Field is an actress and Loose Women personality with no ostensible first-hand experience of the music industry, but detailed at yesterday’s press conference why she’ll get along just fine.
“I’m here to find some great talent and make some great TV, that’s really my focus,” she said, per the Daily Star.
“I want to help someone achieve their dream, so having someone like me there makes it more exciting, because it’s more of a challenge.
“It wouldn’t be as fun, so I’m excited to be the underdog.”
She went on: “I love my Loose Women ladies and I think it’s a privilege to be a part of that and do live television, because that was something also that helps me.
“I think if I hadn’t already done live TV I might be a little terrified, but I’m really excited for the live TV. I’m excited for the live shows.”
She also pointed out that giving guidance and support to Robbie for the last 12 years has given her valuable insight into how things work.
It’s also probably worth noting that judges with reams of experience often make for shite TV, and the whole show is circling the drain anyway so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I look forward to Ayda being the winning mentor in December, quite frankly.
