The Greatest Dancer: Alesha Dixon to host new show from the X Factor lot
Alesha Dixon is presenting a new Saturday night dance competition from Simon Cowell’s team behind The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.
The long-rumoured The Greatest Dancer will hit the air in 2019 with Dixon hosting alongside Jordan Banjo.
This is apparently all about finding The Next Big Thing In Dance; filling a void left by Got To Dance and So You Think You Can Dance? by inviting the public to audition and incorporating any style under the sun.
“I can’t wait to be a part of The Greatest Dancer and work with Jordan,” Alesha said in a statement.
“As a massive fan of dance I’m so excited about the prospect of finding amazing new dance talent.”
Jordan added: “I’m so excited to be a part of The Greatest Dancer. Coming from a talent show myself with Diversity has shown me how much a show like this can change your life, so to be on the other side hosting is going to be an awesome experience.”
No word on who will be on the inevitable judging panel just yet, but Bruno Tonioli is rumoured to be in producers’ crosshairs, and there was talk a while back of Cheryl being involved in the development.
The BBC have nabbed this one, presumably to air against The Voice UK in the first months of the year.
