Rebecca Ferguson has opened up on her decision not to accept an offer to sing at Donald Trump’s inauguration.
Trump was reportedly rejected by several A-list names earlier this year in the run-up to his big day, and Rebecca was one of many names who popped up.
“At the time it would have been a very easy thing for me to do – choose status, choose a platform, it would have put me around the world,” she told Loose Women yesterday.
“My dignity wouldn’t allow me.
“I think there was certain political reasons I won’t go into. I’m not gonna say a lot until he’s out of his position.”
She added: “I have this motto: I’ve got to be able to look myself in the mirror and feel proud of myself. i know if I’d have done it, it wouldn’t have felt right.”
Rebecca’s recently announced new tour dates for early 2018 but it’s unclear if new music will be released in the meantime.
Her criminally slept-on fourth album, Superwoman, is out now.
